I believe in helping students learn chess in a straight-forward manner. I teach the importance of chess strategy using the 5 most important chess principles. This teaches the student to learn how to think in chess, make great moves, figure out what the opponent is trying to do and prevent them from doing it. I teach how to come up with and execute a plan, openings, tactics, king safety, and much much more.
I have been playing chess for 26 years and teaching chess for over 10 years now. I've played in several competitive tournaments and placed very well in most of them including 1st place in the Magic City Classic Reserve Section and I placed 2nd in the 41st Annual World open 1400 section. A Little Bit About Me...

As an accounting graduate and a college football player, I learned to have a good sense on how to study and hard work, both on and off the field. I had a great love for math throughout my schooling career and decided to go into accounting due to this. Even with a hectic schedule with football in college, I was still able to graduate exactly 2 weeks before 4 years with enough credits to be close to a finance degree as well. I took some graduate classes for my last semester and season before I left college. During this time in college I was able to tutor other players and students in Math and Accounting.
