I have been playing chess for 26 years and teaching chess for over 10 years now. I've played in several competitive tournaments and placed very well in most of them including 1st place in the Magic City Classic Reserve Section and I placed 2nd in the 41st Annual World open 1400 section. I also have a lot of experience teaching people from beginner level all the way up to strong tournament players. I work through translators, so it is important to keep a positive presentation style to avoid misinterpretation and miscommunication. For me, teaching began in my senior year of high school, where I would lead extensive calculus groups. After entering college, where I obtained a Batchelors degree in Applied Mathematics, I tutored pre-calculus and differential equations. I then began to tutor math to at-risk high school students. For a period of more than 2 years I taught computer-related subjects, particularly those that would enable students to obtain Microsoft certifications. Currently I teach and tutor all school mathematics subjects as well as SAT math.
