I have had years of experience even before college with Fine Arts. I had a tutor/ lessons myself in art from age 9-15. I have earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts at Virginia Tech in 5 years after transfer twice before. I was very successful at Virginia Tech my professors were always impressed with my drive to succeed. I have recently completed my Senior Art Show and had amazing feed back from all professors and professionals that attended. I also intend on applying to graduate school in the next year for my MFA. I am a creative teacher, meaning that I assess the individual and do not have an agenda that I adhere to. Normally, I am able to advance a child a grade level in reading with three months of tutoring and reinforcing homework, during the summer. I graduated from high school with honors from a school that never pushed the effectiveness of attending college to students. I maintained my focus and attended Virginia State University in the fall of 2006. My mother was my inspiration, so much that I ventured towards science as my field of study. I chose to be a chemist, allowing myself to go above and beyond the norm. I succeeded as I came upon the completion of my undergraduate studies and obtaining a BS in Chemistry. Children's church is where a year of my experience comes from. I would guide a group of children during the service and would spend individual time with those who wanted to brush up on their reading and writing. I enjoyed every minute of this experience and can say I made an impact in those children's lives. I love working with children of all ages.
