A Little Bit About Me...

With a BS in Physics and a Masters in Business I greatly enjoy the challenge of academics. I have been a classroom teacher for over 6 years and have tutored students from Pre-K through college age in areas of English and math. I enjoy seeing my students excel.
I greatly enjoy teaching and developing children of all ages. As a teacher I am constantly challenged to understand each student’s individual needs and to present the material in a way that produces the most joy and therefore increases material retention. I have high expectations for all of my students and make sure they know I believe in them. As a humanistic educator, I have always been driven to teach in various capacities, even after qualifying as a Civil Engineer. I completed course work at the graduate level to earn my certification in North Carolina to teach mathematics and physical science. I have served deligently from the middle school level to the college level. I taught middle school mathematics and physical science for several years prior to my teaching assignment within the public high school system in both Mecklenburg and Union Counties. I have taught algebra 1 and 2, geometry, business mathematics, pre-calculus and calculus with differential equations at Independence High School and Forest Hills High School respectively.
