My style is considered out of the box, meaning that if the standard method does not "click" with him/her, then I enjoy finding something of interest to them, to relate that to the subject at hand. Keeping a students interest is paramount to keep them enthusiastic about learning. Along with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, I have many educational experiences in the area of science, math, history (to name a few). I am patient, go at the students level, and believe in the use various types of visual aids and hands on to keep my students engaged. Students learn and retain information quicker with continual repetition; however each student will grasp the information different from another and some will take more repetition than others. I have been working with special needs students with various disabilities for 10 years. I have worked with students ranging from ADHD/ADD to those who are bed ridded and need toileting assistance. I have also had to accommodate with feeding and those who are transitioning out of high school. I generally try to think of new and creative ways to explain grammatical concepts and general writing concepts if I'm not being clear. Basically, my tutoring sessions involve a lot of conversation. I do also offer strictly online editing; in that case, I will use Word and create a document with comments.
