An underlying emphasis of my career, either as a teacher, principal or superintendent, has been a focus on helping challenged students. Beyond several years teaching and serving as an administrator at many levels within the educational field, I have taught and tutored students both in the U.S. and China. It is very important to find out what skills sets a child needs to be reinforced. The activities the student engages in must be based on his strengths and weaknesses. I believe in working with the student to explain their thought process. I do this by asking questions and helping them realize how to attack a task.
