I am a recent Bachelor of Arts graduate with a double major in Philosophy and Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park, NJ. During the latter part of my college experience, I began teaching in K-12 classrooms. Quickly and suddenly, I realized that I was going to make teaching a career, both because of the personal satisfaction it gave me and because of my effect on the students. My teaching style is patience, immersion and respect. If there is one important thing I have learned from working with children, it is that though they are young, they are still people, so they are aware when they are being patronized for their age. Therefore, I make sure to treat them with respect. As far as foreign language teaching is concerned, I stress the difference between "decoding" and "comprehension". I want my students to be able to read in the foreign language and completely understand, rather than just read the letters and sound out the word.
As a soon-to-be graduate of Oberlin College, I understand the importance of education. A Little Bit About Me...

I was a teaching assistant for two years at a college level. I had over 160 students and loved interacting with them all. I have two bachelor's degrees from the University of Miami, one in Economics and one in Anthropology.
I believe that asking questions is the best way to learn. I encourage all my students to really think about why something is the way it is and not to be afraid of asking questions. I find that having an open line of communication really helps to foster a nurturing atmosphere.
