A Little Bit About Me...

As a soon-to-be graduate of Oberlin College, I understand the importance of education. I am an East Asian Studies major and Creative Writing minor, so I have extensive experience in writing analytic papers about Japanese culture and original stories. I'd be willing to provide some writing samples upon request. In addition, I was a tutor of Reading, French and Japanese throughout my years of high school and college, so I have experience in those subjects as well.
My teaching style is patience, immersion and respect. If there is one important thing I have learned from working with children, it is that though they are young, they are still people, so they are aware when they are being patronized for their age. I am a recent Bachelor of Arts graduate with a double major in Philosophy and Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park, NJ. During the latter part of my college experience, I began teaching in K-12 classrooms. Quickly and suddenly, I realized that I was going to make teaching a career, both because of the personal satisfaction it gave me and because of my effect on the students. Since then, I have been assiduously exploring avenues to increase my classroom experience and competency.
