I am currently an undergraduate student studying communications. I have held four collegiate journalism internships, two of which were federal internships in Oak Ridge, Tenn. In the past year, I served as assistant managing editor of my collegiate newspaper, The Oracle; served as assistant editor of the collegiate yearbook, The Eagle; and I served as a teaching assistant for the freshman introduction to journalism course at TN Tech University. I have 20+ years of real world business IT experience. Most of that was programming on IBM iSeries/AS400 mini computers in RPG or COBOL. The last 6 or 7 years has been devoted to learning HTML & PHP in my spare time. The languages aren't important, what is key is learning to break complex tasks down into smaller chunks and think logically about how to link all these smaller tasks into a program to accomplish the overall goal. I'm a very laid back casual sort of fellow that likes to make someone think about how to solve problems efficiently.
