My comments on tutoring Grammar : I have 33 years experience as a high school English teacher and 2 years experience as a GED instructor. Grammar is a favorite area for me to teach.

I have taught English at the high school level for 33 years, both in public and private school. Currently, I am an instructor for a GED class. I team taught with a special education teacher for several years and encouraged the private school where I taught to hire a special education teacher at the high school level. I have taught all levels of English, from vocational English to low level students to honors students.
I particularly enjoy one-on-one teaching; I also enjoy asking students questions to draw from them the knowledge they are seeking.

As a writing center consultant, I was instructed not to spend much time proofreading student papers or reviewing small minutiae. Instead, my goal was to educate students about the fundamentals of writing papers, such as formulating a clear thesis and establishing a clear paragraph structure. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught kindergarten for one year and pre-kindergarten for two years. As a kindergarten teacher my DIBELS scores were the highest at the mid year assessment compared to the other two kindergarten classes. As a pre-kindergarten teacher my students scored better in both IGDI's and Bracken testing then the other classroom.
