My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : It's one thing to read, but it's another thing entirely to understand and retain what you just read. I teach skills that will allow students to absorb information that they read, which helps not only in their daily lives, but in test preparation as well.

I'm very laid back, but I know how to get results. I have always been a very disciplined student, but I realized pretty early in my academic career that unless I make the subject interesting for me, I'll never grasp the material. I make it a point to get to know every student so that I can personalize their learning style. The only way they'll learn and understand something is if they WANT to do so. I offer a different approach to things that students may not get in the classroom, to hopefully expand their interest in a subject they never thought they'd like.
I recently obtained my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, where I graduated in the top of my class with a 4.0.
