I have worked for the past 13 years in accounting and management positions. I started in the Master of Education in the Teaching Arts at Mississippi College this past January and recieved by Class A Teacher's License in June of this year. I am certified to teach grades 4-8 in all four of the major subjects: math, science, social studies and language. I am also certified to teach grades 7-12 in the social studies area: US History, government, geography, and world history. I am also highly qualified to teach accounting and business because of the number of accounting and business classes that I have taken.

I'm very laid back, but I know how to get results. I have always been a very disciplined student, but I realized pretty early in my academic career that unless I make the subject interesting for me, I'll never grasp the material. I make it a point to get to know every student so that I can personalize their learning style. The only way they'll learn and understand something is if they WANT to do so. I offer a different approach to things that students may not get in the classroom, to hopefully expand their interest in a subject they never thought they'd like. I recently obtained my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, where I graduated in the top of my class with a 4.0. I am a retired teacher who taught various science courses for 25 years in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Over the years I have taught biology, chemistry, earth science, physical science, and even pre-algebra. I have a proven track record of results in science education. Many of my students have gone on to have excellent careers as doctors, nurses, dentists, and other science-related disciplines. Also, I can speak a little Spanish although I do not consider myself bilingual. I feel the best way to teach is to put yourself in the student's place. I realize that most science material is totally new to the student so the teacher must not assume that the student just "knows these things."
