I am a graduate of Concordia College and C.W. Post Univ. both at school in NY. I have a BA in Elem. Education and a minor in music Ed. I have my Masters in Special Ed. I have taught students first starting at the preschool level. I have taught elementary students. For 7 years I have tutored Special Ed. Students at the High School level and younger. These classes were English, Math Science,History and Reading. I love teaching and working with all children. I became a teacher because I know that it is sometimes hard for children to learn. I love using manipulatives with all subjects. It makes learning fun even for those that are frustrated with the subject. Since everyone learns in a different way I need to teach the material in different ways to find out which way is best for that student. By using manipulatives with verbal directions and giving examples for them to see covers the bases of physical, visual, and aural learning students. I was not very good in certian subjects like math in elementary school and I had to come up with ways to learn the material on my own. This has helped me to teach students that are like me when I was that age. I can relate to how they are struggling and their frustration in not keeping up with the rest of the class.
