I am a Masters candidate at UW-Madison studying public affairs. I've previously taught test preparation courses for the LSAT and GMAT, and am also very knowledgeable about the GRE, ACT, and SAT. I'm very comfortable teaching individuals or small groups, and have significant knowledge about political science, government, history, and social studies in general. Cumulatively, including extended substitute teaching situations, I have taught all grade levels 1-12 in various subjects. I would describe my teaching style as ecclectic. By this I mean that I discern which style or strategy would best accomdodate the needs of the particular child, based on their learning style. Once the child's learning style is distinguished, I would tailor my lessons/tutoring to that particular style. Throughout college, I consistently worked as a tutor or mentor, specifically with minority populations. Upon graduation, I joined Teach for America and taught high school English in rural North Carolina.
