I am a Masters candidate at UW-Madison studying public affairs. I've previously taught test preparation courses for the LSAT and GMAT, and am also very knowledgeable about the GRE, ACT, and SAT. I'm very comfortable teaching individuals or small groups, and have significant knowledge about political science, government, history, and social studies in general. I can also assist in writing/composition, English classes in general, or algebra or statistics.

Throughout college, I consistently worked as a tutor or mentor, specifically with minority populations. Upon graduation, I joined Teach for America and taught high school English in rural North Carolina. Since my tenure in TFA, I have taught English to students in Mexico, substitue taught for 2 years at a Waldorf school in La Crosse, WI, and currently tutor and mentor students as I attend graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Cumulatively, including extended substitute teaching situations, I have taught all grade levels 1-12 in various subjects. I would describe my teaching style as ecclectic. By this I mean that I discern which style or strategy would best accomdodate the needs of the particular child, based on their learning style. Once the child's learning style is distinguished, I would tailor my lessons/tutoring to that particular style.

I am very patient. I enjoy teaching and explaining. I believe hard work and dedication when accompanied by understanding and explaining, math and sciences can be very enjoyable. It is a great reward to me to improve students understanding and to be part of their success. I have always been good in math and sciences. I enjoyed teaching my friends and classmates. I have experience in manufacturing engineering, Research and Development, Sales, Management in Computers and several years as a Chef.
