A Little Bit About Me...

Recently moved from Ohio to Tennessee. For the past ten years I have taught mild to intense special needs students in a public school in grades 5-9. Three years prior to that I taught children with Severe learning disabilities in grades 4-6. Before that I taught children with severe emotional/behavioral disorders for eight years in grades K-3. I also tutored part time with children of all ages and ability ranges including gifted.

Education is the process of guiding children or adults in the experience of learning meaning of things. In other words, teaching words without establishing a proper sense of the meaning of those words dulls the intellectual life. After graduating from the University of Miami, I taught Kindergarten, a 3rd/4th grade combination, 6th grade, and computers/technology. After having children, I transitioned to tutoring students, some with special needs including, dyslexia, auditory processing, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and others.
