My style is nurturing and thorough, patiently reviewing concepts before continuing on. I use the popular, modern Alfred Method...these books have colorful,delightful illustrations. This includes "Music for Little Mozarts." The upper levels offer lesson, recital, technique, theory and composition books as well as specialty titles (Christmas, etc). I specialize in homeschoolers. To make sure they don't miss the experience of a school program, our recitals may offer singing, dance, costume/drama, recitation, student compositions, etc. in addtion to piano pieces. I have orchestrated countywide interdenominational events so I enjoy doing this on a smaller scale with children. And they love it as do their parents. I am a traditional(old school)style teacher. A professor told us "You cannot teach them if you do not have their attention." Treat the students the way you want to be treated, with respect and honesty. My three rules are: Respect for oneself. Respect for others. Responsibility for your actions. Coming from a family of teachers, the importance of education has always been stressed to me.
