My comments on tutoring Spelling : Spelling in most cases is memorization and sounds. A combination of the two work together to become good at spelling. Seeing the words on paper also help the student to remember them.

In my tutoring sessions I spend time getting to know my student discovering his weaknesses, his strengths and evaluating his abilities to learn, and to comprehend. Then I devise a plan of action to help him overcome areas of fear and insecurity by helping him to build confidence and right attitudes towards learning. I then proceed to teach him good listening skills for comprehension with positive encouragement for new adventure. As my student becomes more confident, I then begin to work on his areas of weakness he has in learning to rise him up to a new level of expression. I was an elementary education major for 2.5 years before following my specific passion to writing and literature in my Junior year to finish up school. Spelling is one of my top subjects! Participated in multiple spelling bees as a youth.

Have never tutored anyone before aside from helping my younger sister with her homework. I completed high school with a 3.5 GPA and am currently preparing to start my 2nd year of community college. Math has always been my best subject. In 11th grade I was enrolled in Algebra II honors, I then took a pre-college algebra course in 12th grade, took a similar course my first semester of college, and then took college algebra. I learned to read when I was 3 or 4 which was earlier than most people I was around. I finished in 16th place in my 5th grade spelling bee finals. Would have gone farther but I mistook course for coarse.
I like to be fun. I don't want to be the teacher/tutor that nobody likes. I want kids to be excited to see me every day. I want to be the guy that 20 years from now, they look back on their lives and remember me and what I was able to do for them.
