With my numerous experiences in education, I think I could be a great asset in helping students become more knowledgeable. I have worked as a Tutor, Assistant Teacher, and did a short placement as an Interim Teacher. I can easily adjust to changing environments that will best suit the student’s potential. I was a Tutor in an after school program, and was an Assistant Teacher in a Special Education classroom. I finished an Interim Teaching placement in a middle school A.P. English classroom. I have a somewhat relaxed teaching style that does not compromise the distinction or respect between student and teacher. This teaching style results in a classroom atmosphere where students feel comfortable responding to my questions and asking for further clarification about complex topics. I have been working with chidlren and older students for a number of years: I started as a sport trainer and I continue as a language tutor. Every one has a different way of learning, to which has to correspond a certain way of teaching: this is extremely easy when teaching one-on-one. I believe in having fun while learning! I have earned a bachelors degree, in both English and Anthropology and a certificate in American Sign Language. I have furthered my learning through volunteer positions in my community as well through my chosen career path. As the son of two life-long public educators, the importance of a quality education has always a major theme in my life. Upon entering college I choose mathematics as a major due to the proficiency I have always had in the subject. During my studies I realized that I had an innate ability to not only grasp and understand difficult mathematical concepts, but also to explain them to others.
