Experience Summary
As the son of two life-long public educators, the importance of a quality education has always a major theme in my life. Upon entering college I choose mathematics as a major due to the proficiency I have always had in the subject. During my studies I realized that I had an innate ability to not only grasp and understand difficult mathematical concepts, but also to explain them to others. Thus I began to tutor fellow peers and other scholastic students in subjects ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus II. I have continued tutoring for the last two and a half years.
Teaching Style
I am a huge supporter of the idea that anyone can learn anything that they desire. With that being said, it seems that there should be no problem with students learning mathematics; but there is. Many children have no desire to learn mathematics because they see no relevance for it in their daily lives. I very much enjoy working with children and when I tutor, I enjoy making math more fun and relevant for them. I have had much success doing so, for I have a strong ability to put understanding in students' minds, where understanding did not previously exist. I believe that good education can make a world of difference in children's lives.
