I have a somewhat relaxed teaching style that does not compromise the distinction or respect between student and teacher. This teaching style results in a classroom atmosphere where students feel comfortable responding to my questions and asking for further clarification about complex topics. Many students have told me that my teaching style is refreshing and they feel comfortable in class. With my numerous experiences in education, I think I could be a great asset in helping students become more knowledgeable. My teaching and tutoring experience began prior to completing the BA in Foreign Languages: I had been teaching and tutoring English and Latin to a few Italian students. After graduating and moving to the USA, I started tutoring Latin and Italian to American students. I have always been drawn towards languages, and I find it easy to understand not only the different grammatical principles but also the different culture each language represents. As a graduate of the University of Georgia, I was very much driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education and consider myself an avid and life-long learner and a lover of education in all forms. I have earned a bachelors degree, in both English and Anthropology and a certificate in American Sign Language. I have furthered my learning through volunteer positions in my community as well through my chosen career path. I am a huge supporter of the idea that anyone can learn anything that they desire. With that being said, it seems that there should be no problem with students learning mathematics; but there is. Many children have no desire to learn mathematics because they see no relevance for it in their daily lives. I very much enjoy working with children and when I tutor, I enjoy making math more fun and relevant for them.
