Hello my name is Felicia Reed and I just relocated to Charlotte, NC two weeks ago. Back home I was a a full time Sign Language Interpreter for 7 years. My experience with interpreting is from elementary age children all the way to college level students. About two years agai I started my own business called PaigeSigns2u. PaigeSigns2u is still in the beginning stages. Last year was my first year actually opening PaigeSigns2u and I used the church where I attended. My comments on tutoring Sign Language : I am fluent in sign language I learned in school and I also had the opportuinty to experience it hands on with a spouse who has been deaf since birth.

I am fluent in sign laguage, I am in school now, so I am not certified yet but I can teach what is and or has been taught to me. I also have a spouse that is deaf and has taught me alot as well so I have hands on experience as well. I eager to teach what I have learned , simple do to the fact that I am a strong believer that the world should show more interest in other languages than there own, I choose this because, watched how my spouse struggled to be understood when we went out. And I wanted to change the way people looked at his situation, he not disabled I look at him the way I look at the Hispanics that come here and are not understood, now there are more interpreters for them I want to do the same for our deaf community.

The first thing that I try to do is get to know my client, mainly focusing on what they both like and dislike about school. Then we narrow it down even further to the subject that they are having problems in.
