Recently I was asked to give a Guest Lecture on Neuroanatomy at Everest College. I wanted to take students on a ride through the nervous system, into subcortical structures, down the spinal cord to synapse onto muscles and organs. I started tutoring in the Mid 1970's, tutoring Chemistry to CSULA Nursing students. Then I realized i could also tutor Math, since I took many Math classes in my Chemistry and Computer Science curricula. I have encountered a diverse range of students allowing me to hone my craft.
The interesting part was that I was forced to be creative, since not everyone can learn from the same analogies and techniques. So, over the years I have developed many different approaches to teaching and also much patience.
