My comments on tutoring Spanish : I have taken 2 years of college Spanish. I have been implementing Spanish into my classroom curriculum for over 10 years. My translation ability is better than my speaking. I have passed many Spanish proficiency tests. I am comfortable helping at an elementary or beginning level.

I start out with discussing the area of weakness with the student and then try to investigate why this might be the area of weakness. Once this is discovered, I teach the student (through examples) until they understand the topic with which they need help. Then, I observe how they perform without my guidance and see if they have learned to complete problems solo.

I get to know the children first then get them involved in the assingment with eagerness and excitement. Then the children are to go and show off their knowledge. That way they will know it much better than before.
