I began to realize my love and aptitude for tutoring as a volunteer Japanese instructor for the Daikin home-stay program in 2006. The next two years I volunteered my time with Rosie's International Services tutoring Spanish. At the beginning of the Spring 2008 semester, the Head of the Foreign Language Department, Dr. Maier, submitted my name to a tutoring department at UAH, where I worked tutoring Spanish, Japanese, Latin, Chinese, and English as a Second Language until I graduated in Spring 2010. Although I do not have an education degree nor teaching certificate, I was hired as a part-time Spanish teacher at Austin High School 2010-2011, where I started an informal Japanese Culture Club. My main goal is teaching a student in a way that they could understand ,as we all know every child needs a different approach.With patients and delligence i will discover a way of getting the child to understand the particular subject to how it best fits them. I believe in teaching something until I see the "light come on". I don't take their word for it that they understand it. They must demonstrate to me that they understand it by working through the most difficult problems in the area that I am instructing.
