The first thing I do with any new student is identify his or her learning style so that I may incorporate those specific strategies into my lesson for an effective and personalized learning experience. My lessons are very interactive, and a main aspect is to nurture critical thinking. After setting up a situation, I will pose problems for the student to solve. Critical thinking is necessary in order to navigate foreign grammar and truly understand the material.
I began to realize my love and aptitude for tutoring as a volunteer Japanese instructor for the Daikin home-stay program in 2006. My wide range of expertise is indicative of my schooling where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications that exposed me to the Liberal Arts world; while my minor in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Master of Science degree in Information Technology exposed me to more technical subject matter (i.e. various levels of Math). I had a great opportunities to help and assist students when i attended high school and college. It gave me a sense of achievement knowing i was helping someone else to achieve thier goals, and bring them to understand things in an easier way. The subjects i tutored were mostly math, science and english. I aso assited a lot of graduate stidents as a lab assitant doing research.I have been tutoring now for at least 9 years.
