I have tutored creative writing and I can help with both the outlining and the structural aspects of creative writing. I try to work with students to find connections between different aspects of the material that we're working on as well as to find connections to other subjects. I find that by relating specific topics to broader perspectives on a subject as well as related subjects, the student can gain a greater appreciation for the coherence and importance of a particular subject area. I have experience working with students who are advanced and seeking supplementary tutoring as well as with students who are having difficulty with a subject. The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete. Especially in Math, but also in many other subjects, concepts build upon each other.
