I acheived a B. S. in Education in 1975. My major was Spanish with a minor in French. My personal goals as an undergraduate was to obtain an education that would allow me to work in education and business as an educated professional. My style of teaching mathematics, science and Japanese is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. It is only through solving problems (for mathematics and science) and practice (for Japanese) that this knowledge becomes ingrained in a student so that they are confident to move forward.
I began tutoring high school and college students in 1986. I have 6 children of my own who I have raised and taught science and mathematics. Teaching is so rewarding, there's nothing better than helping someone understand something they have struggled with in the past. I am a very patient person who loves to work with people. I also enjoy helping people overcome challenges. For example: when I worked at the accounting office my specialty was dealing with clients who had or have issues with the IRS. It was my favorite part of the job, especially when the issue was resolved! My teaching style is different for different people, everyone learns differently.
