I am currently an elementary education major at Wingate University. I have had 3 years of experience working with and teaching children because of field experience required by my major and teacher cadet in high school. I have also had experience tutoring family members. However, I believe the way each tutoring session is done depends on that particular student and the way he or she learns best and I am willing to adapt the way I tutor in order to help the student to the best of my ability.

Reading is a skill which not everyone appreciates. For me reading has always been an important part of my life. I learned how to read at a very young age and my level of reading has always surpassed my peers throughout school. I generally teach through visual aids and through very thorough explanations. If the student doesn't understand the first time I explain something, I will explain it in a different way and will keep explaining it in different ways until he/she fully understands what's being taught. I try my hardest to teach by explaining concepts logically and showing WHY and HOW, rather than simply saying something is what it is "just because." I have always been an honors student and am currently taking the highest levels of math (AP Calculus) and spanish (Spanish 5) at my high school.
