A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is based on reading then reviewing. At that point in time ask questions to see if the student has grasped the information being given. If not, answer questions then clarify. When reviewing information it is important to make sure the student knows reasoning behind subject matter so that they are understanding logic and not just memorizing information. In subjects that invloves math such as probability, chemistry, or statistics, I would do a few examples followed by letting the tutee working a few problems.
I have tutored fellow classmates in the past throughtout middle school and high school. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Science from North Carolina State University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I have a North Carolina teaching license for Kindergarten through Sixth grade. I student taught fourth grade students for an entire year; taking over all subjects and teaching them to students. During college, I also observed and tutored students in Kindergarten, Second grade, and Fifth grade. I also tutored a child individually in third grade for a year.
I believe that multiple intelligences should be used in the classroom and tutoring as every student has various learning styles.
