I published a thesis entitled “ Influence of Lead, Chelates, and Growth Stage on the phytoextraction of Lead- Contaminated Soils by Tall Fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.).” Also at JSU, I served as a graduate tutor for undergraduates in Algebra, Biology, and Chemistry courses outside of other duties. At Millsaps, I was a member of Beta Beta Beta which is a biology honor society. As a member, I was responsible for tutoring underclassmen for two years. I spent much of my time at Millsaps coming up with a system of studying and organization which I shared with numerous others. Teaching others is most effective when you can convince someone that the material is actually easy. That is what I do. I make it as easy as possible by organizing the material in a way which shows the student that the material isn't infinite. We then chip away at it. This has proven to be most effective for me as a teacher to keep the student motivated and even excited.
