A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very patient person, and patience is always a necessity when you are teaching a child and helping him/her to understand anything. I am the oldest of four children and I have always had to help them with homework growing up so I know ways to keep their attention on their studies. I have learned that children have to visualize, and see what is happening in order to get a complete understanding. Also, it has to be in a form where it is fun to learn by using charts and different types of ways to display information.
Throughout my matriculation at Tougaloo College, we have always been taught to be critical thinkers and to be professional. At Millsaps, I was a member of Beta Beta Beta which is a biology honor society. As a member, I was responsible for tutoring underclassmen for two years. I spent much of my time at Millsaps coming up with a system of studying and organization which I shared with numerous others. Teaching others is most effective when you can convince someone that the material is actually easy. That is what I do. I make it as easy as possible by organizing the material in a way which shows the student that the material isn't infinite. We then chip away at it. This has proven to be most effective for me as a teacher to keep the student motivated and even excited.
