My comments on tutoring Statistics : Especially experienced explaining basic statistical concepts to students who typically struggle with math.

During undergraduate, I tutored several of my classmates in different chemistry and math courses. Additionally, I've had the pleasure of being a teaching assistant for 2 years for undergraduate statistics. As a TA, I was responsible for summarizing new material, reviewing the concepts, and going over the homework for groups of 20 to 30 students. I've also had a good amount of experience working with smaller groups of students or 1-on-1 with students who came to my office hours.
Patient and encouraging. I usually like to summarize the material and give a bit of context and work through an example. For instance, a lot of times it just looks like things can magically happen without a very good underlying explanation, and to overcome that I try to really break things down and pull things apart, sometimes with real life examples, physical examples and even just showing the student exactly where the "magic" part is coming from. During my years at undergraduate study I tutored mathematics and physics even though most were graduate students. At the same college I was also a laboratory assistant for College Chemistry 1 and 2. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring and teaching since I entered college. I have helped multiple friends of mine through difficult classes that they needed for their degree. I have held many study groups for difficult upper level math classes that my peers struggled with. I was a teacher assistant for Calculus 1 where I held the largest study group on all of campus.
