I think if the person is in a relaxed atmosphere and they know they are moving forward toward their goal, they will feel the rewards of their efforts. It is easier to learn when the instructor and the child are working for the same goals.

I started tutoring in different after-school programs in New York City while in high school. I enjoyed it so much that even while in college, I continued tutoring and being a group counselor. I even had the opportunity to work with a one-on-one tutoring agency in which I traveled to students homes to help them privately. I have also worked as a literacy mentor for daycare children so that they would be ready for pre-school or kindergarten and not be left behind in reading skills.
