I am a self starter and have worked with parents when I owned/operated my private daycare. During high school I was not only in the accelerated english program, I also took many Advanced Placement classes and was on the accelerated math track. I was even able to finish my bachelor degree in International Affairs in three years. I began teaching in the Valdosta City School System also being a reading teacher for students with problems. Gwinnett County School System (1974-1990). I conducted workshops on teaching reading and writing to Kdg.-1st graders. I received inservice training classes in writing, reading, and mentoring young teachers. In 1990, I moved to Fayette County and I began my 15 year teaching career in this county. I helped devise a curriculum for our 3rd graders which integrated all subject areas into units.
