I currently work at an Elementary School in Andover, KS as a special education paraeducator. I assist in grades Kindergarten - 2nd. I have an elementary teaching degree from Wichita State University. My original interest was teaching instrumental music. Although I changed majors and ultimately graduated with a BS in Computer Science, I have continued my interest in teaching, first by volunteer tutoring during college and later by helping adults learn to speak English. I eventually took an intensive summer course in teaching English to speakers of other languages, following which I spent over three years teaching conversational English in Central Asia. As a Civil Engineering student at the University of Michigan, I took classes that led to proficiency in math and science, as well as general classes that have given me a well-rounded education.
