After graduation from college, I entered the Peace Corps and moved to the country of the Federated States of Micronesia. I have lived in that area of the world for most of my teaching career. I have taught for over twenty years gaining experience on almost every level of the educational ladder. I have taught K-5th grade. I developed a heart for young people at an early age, as my parents were missionaries to Native Americans. I truly believe that education has changed my life and promote higher education. I am able to relate to children of all ages and in the past two years especially related to high school and young college students who were looking for their way in life. I absolutely love teaching. I have considered continuing my education and pursuing a secondary education teaching degree. I believe I am patient and kind, and provide a learning experience that is most beneficial to all. I think that students can have fun while learning, and I try to combine fun into my teachings. Although so many students don't believe it, anyone can solve a math problem! They just need to understand how to look at the problem the right way. I'm able to give the one on one attention that a teacher isn't able to. As a Civil Engineering student at the University of Michigan, I took classes that led to proficiency in math and science, as well as general classes that have given me a well-rounded education. I have been tutoring in Physics and Calculus for the past six years. I have also been playing guitar for 10 years, and have been giving lessons for four years.
