My comments on tutoring Jazz Dancing : I've taught Jazz in FL & NYC. I was a Rockette for many years.

Michelle was a Radio City Music Hall Rockette and an Assistant Choreographer for the Radio City Rockettes. As a Rockette, Michelle has performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Today Show, the Tony Awards and many many others. As an Assistant Choreographer Michelle has taught and managed a cast of over a hundred. Other credits: Saturday Night Live, MTV Music Awards and the movie Uptown Girls.

My "teaching style" changes depending on the needs of my students. In all cases, an initial assessment of both the academic level and the temperament of each student are necessary before I establish a particular style. Some students are comfortable with a quieter, more formal tutor, while others are successful with a more casual, animated tutor. In every situation, I look for opportunities to give positive reinforcement. For example, I usually warm-up with material the student feels relatively confident about, then add new or more challenging concepts, and end with the student feeling successful practicing on his or her own.

I completed all of the Houghton/Mifflin Language Arts training sessions that taught California teachers how to be expert Language Arts teachers. I have also attended many Language Arts training sessions through my school district and county education offices. I also ran Language Arts and ESL Intervention programs at my school. I have a B.S. and a Master's degree in Education, and I am CLAD Certified. I love teaching and get along very well with children. I respect them and I know how to inspire them to do their best work.
