A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very patient, easy going, and considerate instructor. I believe that the hands-on learning approach is the most effective in helping all children learn. Each child has their own individual strengths and weaknesses. I feel it is important to identify the strengths and use those to overcome the weaknesses.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 2008, and will receive my Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences in May of 2010. Throughout the course of my college education, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA. Learning is the first step to success, and I am a big advocate on academics. I take pride in teaching and making sure that the student is learning properly. I believe that children learn differently and what makes a good teacher/tutor you have to be able to teach children in the way that they can learn. My teaching strategy is getting to know the student as a person first and a student second. Knowing them helps me to understand their struggles in school and also with the class work. I will design a curriculum that will fit each student and their needs. Learning should be fun. I strive to make a point of this when ever I teach. I do this in both lectures and tests. I find a little humor takes the edge off test taking and allows the student to concentrate on the subject matter without being nervous.
I have taught Accounting courses at a JC and Business College in the St. louis area. I also taught Accounting and Finance courses at a Business College in Raleigh, NC. I enjoyed the experience and look forward to continuing.
