I use all modalities when I teach. I enjoy learning about my students likes and dislikes in order to make teaching appealing to them.
This is my eighth year of teaching. I have taught grades K-5 special education in the subjects of reading,writing and math. I currently teach a modified curriculum level one class in Immokalee. My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : Having taught kindergarten in the public schools for many years, I am able to effectively provide prereading and beginning reading instruction.

I taught kindergarten in public school for twenty years. I am currently teaching in a private school setting. I teach a voluntary preschool class (VPK). In this role I help prepare my students so that they have the skills needed to be successful in kindergarten. These skills are not just academic skills. These skills also include having an ability to function in a large group, get along with peers, and persevere in a task until completion.
I believe a classroom for young children should provide a warm, accepting, and challenging environment.
