My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : Having taught kindergarten in the public schools for many years, I am able to effectively provide prereading and beginning reading instruction.

I believe a classroom for young children should provide a warm, accepting, and challenging environment.
I taught kindergarten in public school for twenty years. I am currently teaching in a private school setting. I teach a voluntary preschool class (VPK). In this role I help prepare my students so that they have the skills needed to be successful in kindergarten. These skills are not just academic skills. I've been a teacher's unofficial little helper since I was in Elementary, helping the students of my class that the teacher simply didn't have the extra time to help. This is my second year of teaching in the state of Florida. Last year I taught in an Inclusion setting in the grades of K and 1. In the state of NC I uses the Wilson Reading Program to teach phonics.
