A Little Bit About Me...

I have over 350 hours of experience working in middle school intensive reading classrooms, 180 hours in a 7th grade science room, completed an internship in a 7th and 8th grade science classroom, and volunteered at Naples Botanical Gardens. Starting in the fall I will be interning full time in a honors marine science class.
I believe all students are capable of learning. My comments on tutoring Elementary Science : As with math, science is best taught through actual experiences. Science activities provide learning opportunities in language and vocabulary, math, and higher level thinking.

I taught kindergarten in public school for twenty years. I am currently teaching in a private school setting. I teach a voluntary preschool class (VPK). In this role I help prepare my students so that they have the skills needed to be successful in kindergarten. These skills are not just academic skills. These skills also include having an ability to function in a large group, get along with peers, and persevere in a task until completion.
I believe a classroom for young children should provide a warm, accepting, and challenging environment.

I've been a teacher's unofficial little helper since I was in Elementary, helping the students of my class that the teacher simply didn't have the extra time to help.
