I have been a working graphic designer for most of my life after graduation from Ohio State. After 12 years of design I was asked to participate in an art and education program at Chicago Public Schools Autism Program. I was hired on the spot and then continued with education by obtaining a masters degree in special education in Tempe Arizona. In Arizona I was assigned as an inclusion teacher for 9, 10 11th grade English. I had to accommodate diverse learners and plan instruction. My experiences as an educator have been numerous and continuous throughout my life. I have a Bachelor in Education 1-8th (Science) I have taught all subjects. Actually I am multilingual. I am native Spanish speaker; I can read, write; translate in my language of origin. I also have five years of French, I read and translate better then speaking fluently the reason I really do have anyone to practice speaking the French language. Currently I am teaching myself Farsi (Persian) language, beside Farsi, Japanese. I worked the Berlitz language agency, in which they taught me how to teach any language in the world without really know the language. I believe that comparing complex concepts to everyday, personal objects and situations is the most effective way to learn. Therefore, I am big on metaphors. Algebraic concepts and formulas can often be, I have found, analogous to much simpler ideas or images. Once the abstract is related to the mundane, we can break down the barrier to understanding that can be an automatic or habitual construction for many people. I am also an advocate of learning by example; I will walk through a problem or two, step by step, until the process becomes obvious. From there, equations can become identifiable patterns that essentially require you to simply "fill in the blanks".
