I never give up on a child or an adult. I recently tutored a law enforcement official to help him understand and pass algebra. He didn't think anyone could help him. The schools told me my son would never learn to read or write. He is my only child out of four who reads lengthy books for pleasure. Everyone has a different style of learning. My teaching methods I alter to suit those needs. I spent three years trying to help my dyslexic son learn to read one sentence. I have patience and I love helping people. I am also a volunteer crisis counselor for the local police department.

I have a more traditional style of teaching-see, say hear and write. This is how I achieved success with both my foreign language students, and my learning disabled students at the Clinic. I also volunteer in my grandson's classroom, and work along with the teacher and the Title ! teacher.

I have had the opportunity to work as a house mother at a home for at-risk teenage girls. I have also taught tenth and seventh grades English and history. I enjoy working with students one-on-one after school hours and learning how to develop their potential.
I love incorporating my personality in my classroom. I often find that students are engaged and grasp concepts when I link them to real-life experiences.
