My comments on tutoring American History : Studied in high school.

I have taught children in a Sunday School environment for more than 20 years. I taught in the New York City Public School System as well as the Nassau County, NY Public School system as a per diem substitute for 2.5 years. In College I volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for a number of months. My mother is a pre-k special ed teacher, I volunteer in class usually once a week to help with the occupational therapy motor lab. My triple major in anthropology, history, and religion required many papers to be written, so I have a strong sense of how to use the English language in writing. At my undergraduate program, my professor for a course in Symbolic Logic asked to refer students in the class to me, if they had questions about the material. After the class had finished, the professor hired me through the university's Philosophy Department as a tutor for the same class. After graduation, I acted as a private tutor in my spare time. At Columbia University I was a Teaching Assistant for three college courses, giving me my greatest experience with explaining course material to a large group of students. I am currently working as a private tutor, with most of my clients learning college-level intermediate Algebra or Symbolic Logic.
