I'm a senior in high school, and I tutor classmates and my younger brother age 11 and his friends. He is in the fifth grade, and it is really easy to tutor him. I work part time as a receptionist, and I am CPR and babysitting certified. I have been around children, and have had very high grades my whole life.

I am a graduate student transitioning from physics to astrophysics, my goal being a PhD in Astrophysics. My undergraduate degree is a BS in Physics with a minor in astronomy. Because of the nature of physics, I have been exposed to many types of science and mathematics. I have discovered over the past year of substituting that I absolutely love teaching. Students are very comfortable with me as I am a very positive, friendly person who smiles a lot. I look at each student as an individual. I think it is important to determine which teaching style works for that person. I would use this information to choose the best method for each student. I think it is important to make learning fun at every age. Education should not be a chore but something to embrace. It would be one of my goals to limit fears or mental blocks that a student may have because they think they can't do it. I would focus on each students potential for success. I have worked with children age 0 to 17 over the years. I tutored my daughters friends when she was in High School in History and some English especially literacy.
