A Little Bit About Me...

I have relatively open teaching style because I know that not all people learn in the same way. I try to adapt to the individuals needs based on their abilities, however on the whole I teach by showing the students what to do and then having them perform the action while answering any questions they may have.
I have spent a lot of time using Microsoft Word and Excel for a number of application over the past ten years and feel I have become very proficient in using it. I have shown many of my friends and co-workers several aspects of the program that they have implemented in everyday use such as shortcuts and hot keys as well as formatting end editing tips.

Microsoft Office is one of my top subjects! I've taught this subject in an adult vocational setting.

My teaching style is fun and down to earth. I like to mix humor with each lesson because I feel if my students are laughing then they are learning. This technique has proven to be very affective.
I've worked as a web designer and technician for more than 10 years. My experience has afforded me the opportunity to meet some very interesting people including one of Microsoft's original Excel programmers. The advent of the Internet was a paradigm shift for me on many levels and I enjoy helping others experience the same.

My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : Intermediate Word skills, Basic Excel skills. I have taught Word, and Excel, in an adult classroom.

I worked as a computer instructor, from September 2009-May 2009, in Los Angeles, CA. I spent 9 months teaching various adults, how to use the computer programs Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I taught students, in a classroom setting. I also, would do private lessons at the student's location. I also, have experience working with kids. I have 3 nieces, and 2 nephews. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to start by encouraging the student to demonstrate what they know, and then give them a little nudge of guidance when they come to something that confuses them. If they're really stumped, then I try to teach them first from a conventional standpoint, then switch to a more example-based explanation. There is almost always an example or an analogy that can explain something that is confusing a student. Sometimes it takes a few examples before you find the one that makes sense to that person, but with a little patience it becomes easily understandable for the student.
