Microsoft Office is one of my top subjects! I've taught this subject in an adult vocational setting.

My teaching style is fun and down to earth. I like to mix humor with each lesson because I feel if my students are laughing then they are learning. This technique has proven to be very affective.
I've worked as a web designer and technician for more than 10 years. My experience has afforded me the opportunity to meet some very interesting people including one of Microsoft's original Excel programmers. I have spent a lot of time using Microsoft Word and Excel for a number of application over the past ten years and feel I have become very proficient in using it. I have shown many of my friends and co-workers several aspects of the program that they have implemented in everyday use such as shortcuts and hot keys as well as formatting end editing tips.
I have relatively open teaching style because I know that not all people learn in the same way. I try to adapt to the individuals needs based on their abilities, however on the whole I teach by showing the students what to do and then having them perform the action while answering any questions they may have.

I received a BS in Computer Science, software engineering, and a minor in Mathematics. I worked for one year at the TLC, or Teaching Learning Center, where upper classmen would tutor other students taking courses they had already taken and done quite well in. I tutored mostly computer courses (programming, excel, etc), but there were also days when I was asked to tutor Calculus.
I like to start by encouraging the student to demonstrate what they know, and then give them a little nudge of guidance when they come to something that confuses them. If they're really stumped, then I try to teach them first from a conventional standpoint, then switch to a more example-based explanation.
