I have wanted to help others learn for as long as I can remember; even as early as the fourth grade I was helping my classmates with assignments. I have always loved learning and helping others to learn. I earned a BS in Psychology in college so I would have a better understanding of how the mind works and learns. I think that in today's public education system, with ever-growing class sizes some students get thrown to the wayside. These students need a more personalized learning plan that offers them head-to-head or small group discussions. I can relate to the child who remains silent because he doesn't think his question is smart enough. Subsequently, that child starts getting left behind little by little until they feel completely lost and abandoned and become disillusioned with the whole education system.
