My comments on tutoring Composition : I have been teaching writing for 30 years at LaGuardia Community College, in NYC. I have helped many students from around the world to become fine writers of the English language. I am patient and understanding.

I have been teaching college (History, Philosophy, Ethics, writing, reading, social studies) since the early 1980's. I have more than 20 years teaching and tutoring at the junior high and high school level of student. Composition is one of my top subjects! Teacher writing is my favorite thing to teach, as it is a chance to see a student's creativity and uniqueness in their work. As a certified Teacher of English (NJ), I am prepared to teach writing composition at any age. I have worked with beginning readers who are just learning to make letters into words and words into sentence. On the other side of the spectrum, I have taught High School English, and thus am familiar with working with the upper levels of writing. I currently am working with an SAT student who needs help with the writing prompt. A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience working with students from Kindergarten through adult education. My earliest teaching experience was with primary grade children (K-2) in an inner-city school district. I taught basic skills to incarcerated men in a NJ Correctional Facility. I have experience working with first generation college students in need of remedial coursework before advancing to college level courses. I'm currently working (part-time) teaching GED writing and math, 2 evenings a week.
